In a dominant performance at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati last night, the Rajasthan Royals kickstarted their campaign with a clinical victory over the five-time champions. After being put in to bat, CSK struggled against a relentless RR pace attack. Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer (2/19) tore through the top order, while Ravindra Jadeja haunted his former side with 2/18. CSK were bundled out for a meager 127 in 19.4 overs, with Jamie Overton’s 43 being the only resistance.
Chasing 128, 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the headlines. He smashed a historic 15-ball half-century, finishing with 52 runs (5 sixes, 4 fours). RR chased the target in just 12.1 overs.
